The only real reason that I like Quick Motion is because of the extra AVD it gives, which will possibly be life saving in the future. (On my Night Lord on gMS I've gone on some Papulatus runs with a hermit who didn't max Nimble Body and quite a few times I've been kept alive with a "MISS" while not paying attention during a bomb summon and he hasn't. :P) It's also possible, if you want, to max Somersault Kick instead of Quick Motion if you don't care about the extra ACC and AVD. Because it's a mob skill it could help you get through first (and possibly second) job faster. Mastery first: On my gunner (currently in the early levels), I've noticed the attack range is ALL OVER THE PLACE. Seriously, it's insane. I'll do 1/1 damage followed by 119 / 87, etc. Mastery is HIGHLY necessary. 6 Gun Booster by level 45: Level 6 Gun Booster lasts 1 minute and still gives the same speed boost. You really don't need any more than that before getting the other skills. Invisible Shot as the first attacking skill: It seems to me like Invisible Shot is going to be a Gunslinger's main attacking skill until third job. It deals 170% damage to 3 monsters while remaining in the same spot (unlike Backstep Shot), so it's stronger than first job's Double Shot and more spammable than Backstep. Level 11 Fire Burner and level 30 Homing: Fire Burner is only truly useful for its 1.5x damage elemental advantage over fire-weak monsters. First off, there's not very mean fire-weak monsters in the game that people actually train on; most will be either holy or ice weak. (Which is why Cooling Effect was maxed in the build early on.) Also, the skill points that would be used in Fire Burner would have to be taken from somewhere and all of the other skills prove more useful. Except Homing. But Homing has to be at max level (30) to unlock the fourth job variant, Advanced Homing, which adds a 20% damage boost to the monster effected by Homing. A 20% damage increase on any monster regardless of elemental weakness far outshines the elemental boost that Fire Burner would give. I'd be happy to answer any questions that anyone has about my build or discuss possible changes (as I haven't fully experienced the class yet). I plan to also make a third job build once I've played as a Gunslinger a good ways into second job. So.. I hope this helped someone! XD Edited by blitzkrieg, May 25 2008, 02:13 AM.

No, I'm really really sure you need Wings. High-level Valkyries and such speak from experience. |

Wings? I'm using the English translations from Sleepywood so I'm assuming you're talking about Quick Motion? If so, I've got it maxed in the build, I guess my reasoning is just a bit off. Edit: Or if you mean Float, what would you take points out of to finish maxing it? I'm guessing Fake Shot or Booster.. but going from 100% stun to 85% stun on FS would kinda suck and Booster expiring so quickly wouldn't be much fun either.. What would you suggest? Everyone says it is. Anyway, I meant that skill that lets you jump and stay afloat for longer periods of time. You need to max it. Screw Throwing Bomb, or so they say. |

I can't remember my reasoning behind maxing Throwing Bomb so I went ahead and edited out 5 points from it and maxed Float. I also changed it so you max Fake Shot before Throwing Bomb as it will probably be more beneficial. |

Why everyone dislike Throwing Bomb? I'd max it and leave booster at 12, and leaving mastery at 19. Gunslingers only have 2 supporting skills: booster and maple hero, so casting often is not a problem for me. Also, at first job, I'd get 10 Backflip kick, and 1 Punch just for fun ^^. |

It doesn't do much damage and requires a bit of a charge up to throw it a good distance. Supposedly it's not very useful and since I don't know firsthand I'm just taking the more experienced word on the subject, lol. And I hate recasting buffs often >_< |

bomb can be good if your about to jump into a mob from above ( just tapping it drops it pretty much straight down ) used with float you could get the mob down to half its hp before you get to them |

i dont think cooling effect is so necisary early on since fake shot does the same job with more damage until its late 20's but if you want the 6 monster mob of cooling instead of 3 then you could go with it apart from that it looks pretty stable gj |

Fake Shot has the same slight delay as Invisible Shot has and it doesn't do any elemental damage. I think Cooling Effect will help out immensely, especially because I hope to start training on Jr Newties in early to mid 9x. If I maxed one of the summons before Cooling Effect it wouldn't be much help there. Not to mention it's also useful if you want to train at Vikings or Himes during 8x-9x because they're both weak to ice. Overall, I think it's more important to give the extra elemental boost on the most trainable monsters along with a nice freezing effect rather than having a summon out. Though, really, it all goes down to personal preference. If you're not going to train on ice-weak monsters around those levels, then yeah, definitely get a summon first. I just can't see many people training elsewhere to be honest, lol. |

Sorry for the double post. I edited the build again to only get 11 Throwing Bomb in second job and to max Booster instead. Just got level 1 Bomb on my character and I can already tell it's completely worthless. |

Yeah I thought it was a good skill but after talking to a few Valkyries and reading some tips on Insoya I'm gonna change it to only be raised to 15. Also I'm changing the third job build to max Octopus before Gaviota. |
