This is brought to you by Daemarius of BasilMarket. I am simply releasing it with his permission. The following links are the original threads. Other References are in the guide. http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/748319/0//My_Proposed_Infighter_Build_Heavily_Revised.html# http://www.southperry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17 I will add the training spots later or as I go along. UPDATES! Last Updated: July 2nd, 1:51BT Due to recent happenings on SW.net, I'm currently going under alot of revisions on this guide. Bare with me please New Data Check out the 3rd Job section! Heretic gets mathmatical and shows why Transform first can be just as good as Energy Charge / Energy Buster Greetings Basilers! NOTE: There is no Pirate section to post this in, so its going here As some of you have heard, we got a good chunk of Pirate data in our latest patch In light of this new information I have decided to put my knowledge of the Pirate skills to good use, and have prepared what I think, is a decent skill build for the Infighter. Not only that, but Im adding in a little story line too, as I feel a post with just a stat build is extremely boring. HUGE NOTICE! I give FULL credit for the Pirate Skills information to Fiel of SouthPerry.net, and all those who helped him. You can see the data for yourselves at the following links: Pirate Skills 4th Job Pirate Skills TO ALL OF YOU PESSIMISTS! To all of you saying "Pirates are weak!" "They suck!" etc etc Pwnage Building Your Pirate Infighters can be likened to Warriors in that their Primary Stat is Str and their Secondary Stat is Dex. Unlike warrior however, Infighters REQUIRE Dex to equip their weapons. When rolling for your stats, shoot for a 4/4 on Int/Luk. You need to have 20 Dex to make the first Job advancement. Dexless Infighter? Here is the best build you can have at Level 10: Str/Dex/Int/Luk = 42/20/4/4 Most people I have talked to say it will take awhile for perfect stat Pirates to make appearances. But making a low-dex (if not, dexless) Infighter, to me, seems highly plausible as soon as they come to gMS. Unlike sins, the dex requirement for the weapons is Lvl=Dex, not Lvl+40 (for Lvl 40+ equips that is) With an average equip, lets do an example: +15 dex sauna (very affordable) Even with just this 1 equip, a Lvl 35 Infighter could be dexless and equip his current Lvl Knuckle Now with better (semi-expensive) equips: +20 Dex sauna +5 Dex Shoe +15 Dex zHelm With these equips, a Lvl 60 Infighter could be dexless and equip his current Lvl Knuckle. From there add a dex cape (even a dex pac), dex earrings, you could easily make it to Lvl 70 and still remain dexless All Im saying is that with current items readily available in gMS, you could easily make a dexless Infighter A Legend Is Born After deciding to leave Maple Island for good, our traveler follows Shanks on board the ship. Within seconds they are off to Victoria Island, home to many towns and a diverse group of inhabitants. He arrives in Lith Harbor, a port town of this huge island. After looking around for a bit, he finds a man named Phil. Our traveler asks a few questions and decides the town of Nautilus sounds interesting. With a quick exchange of some hard earned mesos, he is transported to the new Pirate town. As our hero enters Nautilus, he is amazed at what he sees. Sailing ships, diving submarines and blue water as far as the eye can see. The air is musty with the smell of salt. As he walks around, he inadvertently guards his wallet with his hand. The many pirates of the town gaze at him as if he were the day's pickings. The traveler quickly hides aboard a submarine to keep from being mugged. As he explores this massive machine of iron and steel, he finds himself in a room with many mirrors and computers. Standing beside the helm is a girl dressed in earrings and ratty clothes. She eyes the young traveler, seeing his nervousness and chuckles. She introduces herself as Kairin, leader of the Pirates explains he will come to no harm here, so long as he doesn't go starting trouble. Our hero is relieved and begins to find his way out. She stops him and looks deep into his eyes (and subsequently his character stats). She decides he has the definite look of a Pirate, and offers to make him one. The young traveler is some what shaky. He explains JUST got to this huge island, and doesn't know what he will do yet. Should he travel north to Perion? Maybe east to Ellinia, or maybe.... The hero is stopped in his ranting by Keirin angered gaze. He realized he has offended her by not accepting her offer quickly. He nods in agreement. Keirin places her hands on his head and his heart. She closes her eyes and our traveler begins to feel.....funny. Suddenly, a bright light illuminates the room, and out hero is taken back by a huge surge of energy. Once he gets back up, he sees Kairin smiling. She just simply says "Welcome to the family" A Diamond In The Rough As our traveler exits the submarine, his head is filled with Keirin final words "Come back when you grow up bit, I'll help you become even stronger" Pfft..grow up huh? Ive killed Orange Mushrooms! He shakes the words out of his head and exits Nautilus. As he ventures into Victoria Island, he attacks the wide variety of monsters. From hungry pigs to sluggish snails, he tears each limb from limb (or...uh...snail from shell) He feels he is getting stronger with each kill, and before long he is unlocking the secrets of his new job.... ~ • Your Basic Pirate • ~ Based on the information gathered, I have drafted up a decent stat build for a 1st job Pirate that will become an Infighter: Total Exp needed (Lvl 10-30): 640,990 Proposed Pirate Build: 10: +1 Somersault Kick(1) 11: +2 Somersault Kick(3), +1 Dash(1) 12: +3 Somersault Kick(6) 13: +2 Somersault Kick(8), +1 Dash(2) 14: +3 Somersault Kick(11) 15: +2 Somersault Kick(13), +1 Dash(3) 16: +3 Somersault Kick(16) 17: +3 Somersault Kick(19) 18: +1 Somersault Kick(MAX), +2 Dash(5) 19: +2 Straight(2), +1 Dash(6) 20: +3 Dash(9) 21: +1 Dash(MAX), +2 Straight(4) 22: +3 Straight(7) 23: +3 Straight(10) 24: +1 Staight(11), +2 Quick Motion(2) 25: +3 Quick Motion(5) 26: +3 Quick Motion(8) 27: +3 Quick Motion(11) 28: +3 Quick Motion(14) 29: +3 Quick Motion(17) 30: +3 Quick Motion(20) Skill Dist. at Lvl 30: 61 Points Total • 20 Quick Motion • 20 Somersault Kick • 10 Dash • 11 Straight Notes on this build Some believe maxing Straight is better than maxing Somersault Kick. But any experienced Maplers knows Mobbing = faster leveling. I did a mix of Dash and Somersault kick on the experience that Haste = faster leveling, so Dash should help just as well. ALSO! Somersault kick can be used when using ANY weapon and WITHOUT one as well, giving you much more versitility Then again, you can only use Straight in the 2nd Job Advancement. Also, 2nd Job is loaded with mob skills, which also stun and will easily replace Somersault Kick. Finally, keep in mind an Infighter only has four 1v1 attacks (five counting Energy Drain) in its ENTIRE arsenal (1st job through 4th): Straight, Double Upper, Fist and Demolition; while it has eight mobbing skills: Somersault Kick, Screw Punch, Backspin Blow, Energy Buster, Shockwave, Snatch, Energy Orb, and Dragon Strike (Leviathon). This means you have alot more choices for mobbing moves than single target skills, so you might want to max out every one you have Coincidentally, by the time you reach 3rd Job, it really wont matter which one you ended up maxing. Showing Promise... As our hero exits the swamp with his party, he feels as strong as ever. He strikes a manly pose and exclaims that the King Slime was quite a foe, but no match for the power of a Pirate! The mage quickly suggests he did most of the work, so our traveler expells him and calls him a noob. Just then, he hears a voice in his head. It's Kairin! She orders him to head to Nautilus immediately to see her. Our hero travels quickly to the Pirate Town and into the huge submarine. As he walks up to Kairin, she is taken back by the change she sees and senses. She cracks a slight grin and motions for him to come closer. She explains that he has improved greatly, and enough to take the next step. He exclaims that he is ready for anything. Kairin tells him to seek her assistant and to follow his instructions. After searching the immediate area of Nautilus, he finds the assistant. Our hero is transported to a hidden area, and told to kill the monsters and collect thirty marbles. After the long grueling battle, he gives the marbles to the estranged pirate, and receives proof of what he accomplished. The traveler shows Kairin, and she gets excited. She knew there was something about this one. She walks over and places her hands on him again, same as before. She explains there are two paths that he can walk: The path of the Infighter or that of the Gunslinger. Our hero thinks that guns are for weak people, and feels like going around and punching things. Infighter it is! The bright light shines again, and this time he is thrown up against the wall from the power surging through him from Kairin. After rising slowly from the ground, he throws a few jabs and a kick. WOW! Our hero is even more powerful! Kairin again tells our hero to explore Victoria more throughly and to get stronger. ~ • The Way of The Infighter • ~ Thanks to Sheikox for his suggestions, Ive made some revisions Again, based on the information I have drafted up a skill build of an Infighter Proposed Infighter Build 30: +1 ImHP(1) 31: +3 ImHP(4) 32: +3 ImHP(7) 33: +3 ImHP(MAX) 34: +2 Screw Punch(2), +1 Knuckle Mastery(1) 35: +3 Knuckle Mastery(4) 36: +1 Knuckle Mastery(5), +2 Knuckle Booster(2) 37: +3 Knuckle Booster(5) 38: +1 Screw Punch(3), +2 Knuckle Mastery(7) 39: +1 Screw Punch(4), +2 Knuckle Mastery(9) 40: +1 Screw Punch(5), +2 Knuckle Mastery(11) 41: +1 Screw Punch(6), +2 Knuckle Mastery(13) 42: +1 Screw Punch(7), +2 Knuckle Mastery(15) 43: +1 Screw Punch(8), +2 Knuckle Mastery(17) 44: +1 Screw Punch(9), +2 Knuckle Mastery(19) 45: +2 Screw Punch(11), +1 Knuckle Booster(6) 46: +2 Screw Punch(13), +1 Double Upper(1) 47: +2 Screw Punch(15), +1 Double Upper(2) 48: +2 Screw Punch(17), +1 Double Upper(3) 49: +2 Screw Punch(19), +1 Double Upper(4) 50: +1 Screw Punch(MAX), +1 Double Upper(5), +1 Backspin Blow(1) 51: +3 Double Upper(8) 52: +3 Double Upper(11) 53: +3 Double Upper(14) 54: +3 Double Upper(17) 55: +3 Double Upper(MAX) 56: +3 Backspin Blow(4) 57: +3 Backspin Blow(7) 58: +3 Backspin Blow(10) 59: +3 Backspin Blow(13) 60: +3 Backspin Blow(16) 61: +3 Backspin Blow(19) 62: +1 Backspin Blow(MAX), +1 MP Recovery(1), +1 Oak Barrel(1) 63: +3 MP Recovery(4) 64: +3 MP Recovery(7) 65: +3 MP Recovery(MAX) 66: +3 Knuckle Booster(9) 67: +3 Knuckle Booster(12) 68: +3 Knuckle Booster(15) 69: +3 Knuckle Booster(18) 70: +2 Knuckle Booster(MAX), +1 Knuckle Mastery(MAX) Skill Dist. at Lvl 70: 121 Points Total • 10 ImHP (Improving Max HP Increase) • 20 Knuckle Mastery • 20 Knuckle Booster • 20 Double Upper • 20 Backspin Blow • 20 Screw Punch • 10 MP Recovery • 1 Oak Barrel Notes on this build Maxing ImHP first was a given. I decided on maxing Screw Punch first after Imh because most, if not all, Maplers should be CPQing from Lvl 30-50, and that skill would seem to do the most DPS there. Notice this build includes getting Mastery to 5 ASAP to get at least some Booster. It then continues based on the +% per two points put in mastery. Any physical damage based Mapler will tell you Mastery first is key (well most Maplers). After that, get a solid one minute booster, and start slowing down Screw Punch to add to Double Upper. Why? Because someone has to show those Robots who's boss! Well, not really. But it seems useful, dishing out 580% to a single monster. After I decided to add into Backspin Blow. The reason being is from what I learned watching KMS videos. Most high level Bucs and Vipers will Backspin Blow enemies into a corner, then Leviathan / Fist / Shockwave them to death. The rest of the build seems self explanatory. Max MP Recovery, finish up Booster and Mastery Close Call In The Town of Henesys Our traveler has accomplished much since his stay on Victoria Island. He's become employed, killed countless slimes, overcame the arduous Party Quest in Kerning City and advanced into an Infighter. He clenches his fist and feels the new power he possess. 'What now?' he thinks to himself. As he looks around the town of Henesys, he finds himself surrounded by worthless adversaries. 'Bunch of nubs' he scoffs. The traveler decides to get a better look at Victoria Island, and climbs the tallest object near him. He climbs the gate at the front of the town and finds a small crack in the wall. As he leans in the observe it, he suddenly is sucked in. When he awakes, he finds himself surrounded by iron clad pigs. They all have a hungry look in their eyes, as if our hero was the breakfast they have been waiting for. He quickly gets in a defensive position, and prepares for the onslaught. But it is to no avail. He is quickly overwhelmed and pushed to the ground. As the pigs leap in for the final blow, a quick flash of light screams across the sky. The pigs stop suddenly, frozen in their stance. Bits of metal and blood spur out from the monsters and they slump over, dead. Our hero slowly gets up, patting the dirt off of his new pirate garb. He looks around to see what could have destroyed such powerful enemies in such a short amount of time. As he looks ahead, he sees a man riding a silver monster. He quickly runs after the man, hoping to find out how such immense power can be obtained. As he nears the unknown warrior, a terrible shriek is let out. The ground shakes and quivers; lightly at first, but its intensity rapidly grew. The traveler looks at the ground and sees the terrain ripping itself apart. And then.....nothing. He looks around in the immediate area and sees the mighty warrior standing at a newly formed hole in the ground. Our hero peers down and sees two gleaming yellow eyes. "Get back" the warrior warns. He is quite a sight to see. Spiky blue hair, muscular frame. But what really catches the eye is his weapon. It was a shining spear made of gold. The traveler could sense its power, and see the crackling energy surrounding it. With a sudden gusty of wind, a gigantic mushroom vaulted into the air out of the hole. The warrior unmounted and readied himself. The mushroom, now descending, was on a clear path for our hero and the unnamed warrior. As the ferocious monster came closer, the warrior seemed stoic. The traveler blocked his face with his arms and braced for impact. The unnamed warrior simply gripped firm his mighty weapon and thrusted once into the beast and it was mamed. It slumped to the ground, moaning in agony. It attempted to crawl back to its hole, but the warrior stood in its path. He grasped his spear once more, rose it above his head, and struck downwards. "Its safe now" the unknown warrior huffed as he sprang back up on top of his stead. As he began to leave, our speechless hero mustered the strength to shout a simple question: "How do I become as strong as you" The warrior stopped, slowly turned and eyed our hero. "Head to Ossyria by way of Ellinia. Kill as many monsters as you can, help the townsfolk, and grow stronger. Victoria Island may be a walk in the park for you now, but this island I speak of is a different story. I take my leave for now, perhaps our paths shall cross again" And with that, he was gone. Our hero now had in him a inspiration, a new goal. He would train hard enough to be able save helpless people, not be one. A Taste For Adventure We join our hero in the town of Ellinia. He has just arrived and is admiring the town hidden in the trees. These mammoth, intertwining trees are truly a sight to behold. After stocking up on necessities at the local shop, he climbs the vast amount of vines and branches and heads into the station. The traveler buys a ticket to Ossyria, and waits patiently for the ship to arrive. A giant horn sounds off as a huge ship docks into the port. The ship he sees easily dwarfs the size of Shank's vessel. Our hero is some what curious as to how such a contraption could be built. As people began to disembark, he sees some disturbing images. At least ten corpses are begin hauled off the ship, and many other injured people. A strong looking warrior limps down the wooden planks and rests on a nearby box. When our hero inquires as to what happened, he is bombarded with the warrior's hysteria. "THEY where EVERYWHERE! THEY wouldn't stop. We thought we could kill them, we thought we had a chance. And the noobs......they just insisted on watching.... O GOD WHY?" Our hero slowly backed away from the wailing warrior and stepped towards the ship. He looked up and saw crew members scrubbing the blood off the deck. He decides that if he is afraid now, he will never be as strong as that spearman. After remembering the awesome show of power, he quickly regains his courage and runs on board. Rising Above The Rest As our hero steps off the ship, he finds himself in Orbis. He is speechless at the sheer size of this new world. Hundreds of ships are docking and taking off. What really surprises him is the town he is in now is FLOATING! Never could he have imagined such things were possible. As he explores the town, he notices everyone around he looks incredibly strong. They must have been adventuring for years, honing their skills. Our traveler approachs a travel-weary warrior and asks what there is to do in such a marvelous place. The warrior looks up from what he is doing and says "U ISRAEL?" "mes0s pl0x!" The hero slowly backs away and looks to someone else for advice. He finds a seemingly well-to-do mage and asks if there is anything he can do to become stronger. "Fresh off the boat eh? I was like that too awhile ago. I'd start climbing down El Nath Tower now. There are plenty of monsters to fight and practice on the way down. By the time you reach the bottom, you'll be much stronger". "Climb down a tower? No Sweat!" our hero exclaims as he loses himself in his own ego. He runs towards the entrance of the tower in a haste, eager to train hard and become as strong as the warrior in Henesys. As he enters the top of the tower, he finds a severly wounded bandit struggling to climb the ladder. Our hero quickly grabs and pulls him up to safety. "Thank god, I thought those machines were gonna kill me." The traveler looks down to see orb-shaped robots, shooting blasts of heat and ice up towards him. He thinks for a second that he may be in over his head. But our hero isn't some sissy! He's gonna be the best of the best! The traveler uses a return scroll on the bandit to get him to safety, and leaps down into the darkness of the tower... The Town of Ice We rejoin our hero as he nears the bottom of the tower. What little light there is shows he has been battered badly in many battles. But he knows its worth it as he feels his power grow. As he descends yet another level of the tower, he feels something icy and cold on the floor. Snow! He must be close. This new found information rejuvinates out hero and he runs down the tower, punching and destroying every sentinal in the way. As he flies down, he sees a light growing. AN exit! The traveler walks through the gateway and finds himself in a blizzard. Mountains of snow as far as the eye can see. As he walks away from the tower, the town of El Nath comes into view. He enters the city gate to find the town surprisingly busy with activity. He sees a house higher than all the others in town, and heads for it. As he opens the door, a gust of wind and snow follows him. He shuts the door and walks into the warmth of the nearby fireplace. Our hero looks around and sees five hooded figures in the distance. One walks towards him and comes into the light, and has the look of an old man "Greetings traveler. By the looks of it, you are one of Kairin's boys, are you not?" The hero, shivering from the cold, nods his head. "Ah good, I recieved a message from her telling me to anticipate your arrival. From what I can tell, you have been fighting hard and broadening your skills. Are you ready to make the next step?" Our hero is dumbfounded "Next step? I just freakin' climb down a tower, almost died, and now I'm suffering from frostbite! Nice location for a house, let's put it in the middle of an iceberg!" The aged Pirate, looks deep into the traveler's eyes, and swiftly kicks him across the face. Our hero is flung across the room, crashing into some convienently placed empty wooden boxes, and knocked unconscious.... The Test of Valor ~Under Construction~ ~ • The Buccaneer's Path • ~ ~Under Construction~ Proposed Buc Build Transform / Shockwave vs Energy Charge / Energy Buster Both sets of skills are grouped together to give the best possible DPS. Problem is, you can only go transformed every four minutes (Skill lasts two minutes with an six minute cooldown). So for that time you must rely on your 2nd job skills. Some people might not like this and opt for the Energy Charge / Energy Buster combo first. If so, here's your build: 70: +1 Stun Mastery(1) 71: +3 Stun Mastery(4) 71: +3 Stun Mastery(7) 73: +3 Stun Mastery(10) 74: +3 Stun Mastery(13) 75: +3 Stun Mastery(17) 76: +3 Stun Mastery(MAX) 77: +2 Energy Charge(2), +1 Energy Buster(1) 78: +2 Energy Charge(4), +1 Energy Buster(2) 79: +2 Energy Charge(6), +1 Energy Buster(3) 80: +2 Energy Charge(8), +1 Energy Buster(4) 81: +2 Energy Charge(10), +1 Energy Buster(5) 82: +2 Energy Charge(12), +1 Energy Buster(5) 83: +2 Energy Charge(14), +1 Energy Buster(6) 84: +2 Energy Charge(16), +1 Energy Buster(7) 85: +1 Energy Charge(17), +2 Energy Buster(9) 86: +1 Energy Charge(18), +2 Energy Buster(11) 87: +2 Energy Charge(20), +1 Energy Buster(12) 88: +2 Energy Charge(22), +1 Energy Buster(13) 89: +2 Energy Charge(24), +1 Energy Buster(14) 90: +1 Energy Charge(25), +2 Energy Buster(16) 91: +1 Energy Charge(26), +2 Energy Buster(18) 92: +3 Energy Buster(21) 93: +2 Energy Charge(28), +1 Energy Buster(22) 94: +2 Energy Charge(30), +1 Energy Buster(23) 95: +2 Energy Charge(32), +1 Energy Buster(24) 96: +2 Energy Charge(34), +1 Energy Buster(25) 97: +2 Energy Charge(36), +1 Energy Buster(26) 98: +2 Energy Charge(38), +1 Energy Buster(27) 99: +2 Energy Charge(MAX), +1 Energy Buster(28) 100: +2 Energy Buster(MAX), +1 Transform(1) 101: +2 Transform(3), +1 Shockwave(1) 102: +2 Transform(5), +1 Shockwave(2) 103: +2 Transform(7), +1 Shockwave(3) 104: +2 Transform(9), +1 Shockwave(4) 105: +2 Transform(11), +1 Shockwave(5) 106: +2 Transform(13), +1 Shockwave(6) 107: +2 Transform(15), +1 Shockwave(7) 108: +2 Transform(17), +1 Shockwave(8) 109: +2 Transform(19), +1 Shockwave(9) 110: +1 Transform(MAX), +2 Shockwave(11) 111: +3 Shockwave(14) 112: +3 Shockwave(17) 113: +3 Shockwave(20) 114: +3 Shockwave(23) 115: +3 Shockwave(26) 116: +3 Shockwave(29) 117: +1 Shockwave(MAX) +2 Energy Drain(2) 118: +3 Energy Drain(5) 119: +3 Energy Drain(8) 120: +3 Energy Drain(11) Then again, if the entire reason you made an Infighter was to Transform and look flashy (like 90% of the people who will make one), this would be your build 70: +1 Transform(1) 71: +2 Transform(3), +1 Shockwave(1) 72: +2 Transform(5), +1 Shockwave(2) 73: +2 Transform(7), +1 Shockwave(3) 74: +2 Transform(9), +1 Shockwave(4) 75: +2 Transform(11), +1 Shockwave(5) 76: +2 Transform(13), +1 Shockwave(6) 77: +2 Transform(15), +1 Shockwave(7) 78: +2 Transform(17), +1 Shockwave(8) 79: +2 Transform(19), +1 Shockwave(9) 80: +1 Transform(MAX), +2 Shockwave(11) 81: +3 Shockwave(14) 82: +3 Shockwave(17) 83: +3 Shockwave(20) 84: +3 Shockwave(23) 85: +3 Shockwave(26) 86: +3 Shockwave(29) 87: +1 Shockwave(MAX), +2 Stun Mastery(2) 88: +3 Stun Mastery(5) 89: +3 Stun Mastery(8) 90: +3 Stun Mastery(11) 91: +3 Stun Mastery(14) 92: +3 Stun Mastery(17) 93: +3 Stun Mastery(MAX) 94: +2 Energy Charge(2), +1 Energy Buster(1) 95: +2 Energy Charge(4), +1 Energy Buster(2) 96: +2 Energy Charge(6), +1 Energy Buster(3) 97: +2 Energy Charge(8), +1 Energy Buster(4) 98: +2 Energy Charge(10), +1 Energy Buster(5) 99: +2 Energy Charge(12), +1 Energy Buster(6) 100: +2 Energy Charge(14), +1 Energy Buster(7) 101: +2 Energy Charge(16), +1 Energy Buster(8) 102: +1 Energy Charge(17), +2 Energy Buster(10) 103: +2 Energy Charge(19), +1 Energy Buster(11) 104: +2 Energy Charge(21), +1 Energy Buster(12) 105: +2 Energy Charge(23), +1 Energy Buster(13) 106: +1 Energy Charge(24), +2 Energy Buster(15) 107: +1 Energy Charge(25), +2 Energy Buster(17) 108: +3 Energy Buster(28) 109: +2 Energy Charge(30), +1 Energy Buster(18) 110: +2 Energy Charge(32), +1 Energy Buster(19) 111: +2 Energy Charge(34), +1 Energy Buster(20) 112: +2 Energy Charge(36), +1 Energy Buster(21) 113: +2 Energy Charge(38), +1 Energy Buster(22) 114: +2 Energy Charge(MAX), +1 Energy Buster(23) 115: +3 Energy Buster(26) 116: +3 Energy Buster(29) 117: +1 Energy Buster(MAX), +2 Energy Drain(2) 118: +3 Energy Drain(5) 119: +3 Energy Drain(8) 120: +3 Energy Drain(11) Skill Dist. at Lvl 120: 151 Points Total BASE SKILL BUILD: • 20 Transform • 20 Stun Mastery • 40 Energy Charge • 30 Shockwave OPTIONS: (Max EB Build) • 30 Energy Buster • 11 Energy Drain (Max ED Build) • 20 Energy Drain • 21 Energy Buster Notes on this build Energy Drain vs Energy Buster The choice between the two seems obvious to me, but those of us that have been researching the Pirate class throughly have come at an inpass about this. There are those saying that maxed Energy Drain would be more beneficial than maxed Energy Buster, since absorbing more HP per hit could save your life. Another argument for maxed Energy Drain is that there are plenty of other hard hitting attacks a Buc could use instead of Energy Buster. But, Energy Drain, as far as we know, only hits one monster at a time, while Energy Buster can hit four. There are many pros to having Maxed Energy Buster as well. You are dishing out 420% damage over four enemies (thats 1680%). This also out damages Screw Punch (three enemies at 420% a piece = 1260%) Added to that, the only 3rd job skill that will out damage maxed Energy Buster is Shockwave, which hits six enemies at 700% a piece (a whopping 4200%) But remember that Shockwave is only accessible in Transform mode and that skill has a cooldown time (480 seconds), limiting use of Shockwave Also, consider the following: ED at Lvl 11: Damage 315% / 16% of damage converted to HP / 200% Range ED at Lvl 20: Damage 360% / 20% of damage converted to HP / 200% Range EB at Lvl 21: Damage 366% / 4 Enemies / 100% Range EB at Lvl 30: Damage 420% / 4 Enemies / 100% Range If you leave Energy Buster at Lvl 21, you are losing out on a total of 216% damage (54% per monster) compared to maxing it. Keeping Energy Drain at Lvl 11 only loses you 45% damage. Notes on Transform by Heretic Heretic said: "Pirate Infighter Formula Max- ((STR*4.8+DEX)/100)*Weapon Attack Min- (STR*0.9*4.8*0.6+DEX)/100*Weapon Attack When I watch the videos, the time difference between transform and energy charge isn't that big. Infact, transform is better. If you watch the vids and check the times, you will notice that they have to wait around 130/140 sec ( avarage from about 4 vids I have seen, viper at newties, pianus, pap and another one xD) for a 50 sec power up. Transform is 120 sec power up and 240 sec of waiting. So this is what you get ( if my calculations are correct:P) Transform 240 sec nothing 240 sec nothing 2 sec nothing 120 sec power up 120 sec Power Up 1 sec Power up Energy Charge 134 sec nothing 262 sec nothing 2.68 sec nothing 50 sec power up 98 sec Power Up 1 sec Power Up In a time leap of 360 sec, transform is clearly better, you have to wait less for a better boost. The charging was with 4th job skills, so I dont know if you charge more with 4th job skills, but I guess not. The only question that’s left is if charge + an attack ( not buster, didn’t calculate that one) is better than transform + Shockwave. I did some calculations with a lv 80 char, but you won’t have energy charge or Shockwave + transform maxed at that time. But it doesn’t really matter, because the difference will be the same ( and I’m to lazy to to more calculations >.<) I gave the guy this equips: 11 ATK WG, Zakum Hat, 2 dex, 2 str Spiegelmann Necklace, 10 DEX 2 ATK Pink Cape, 10 DEX Earrings, 8 DEX Snowshoes, 20 DEX Overall and a 86 atk lv 80 Knuckle. His/ Her Stats are Lv 80 395 AP + 5 AP 3th Job = 400 Range = Luk : 4 + 16 = 20 Int : 4 + 16 = 20 Dex : 20 + 65 = 85 Str : 397 + 17 = 414 ATK = 99 Range = 1147 ~ 2051 Energy Charge = 1378 ~ 2466 Elixer = 1285 ~ 2300 Elixer + Transform = 1343 ~ 2407 Again, my calculations could be wrong, but it’s just to give you a general idea. The normal range is 1147 ~ 2051. With an Elixer it’s 1285 ~ 2300. Now, the first problem is that Energy Charge gives you +20 atk. But doesn’t it overlap Elixers? My guess is yes, because all other attack skills ( dragon blood, rage) do the same. So Energy Charge is only +8 atk if you use an elixer, so it becomes 1378 ~ 2466. Keep in mind that Energy charge gives an additional +200% bonus on attacks, But is it really 200%? My guess is that it’s the same as criticals, its 100% above your attack, because 100% ( normal attack) + 100% = 200%. I think this because when I watch viper movies and they go into ‘charge mode’, the damage doesn’t increase so drastically, it only goes up by around 3/5k for a lv 16x viper. Again, I could be wrong, but that’s why im writing this xD, so correct me if you can. My best guess this far is 100%, so im going to do my calculations with 100%. The range with transform + and elixer it’s 1343 ~ 2407. Here comes the damage, the numbers inbetween the brackets are the multipliers. Energy Charge Double Upper (5.8) = 9370 ~ 16769 Screw Punch (4.2) = 7166 ~ 12823 Average Range = 8268 ~ 14796 of the 2 skills Average DMG = 11532 Transform ShockWave (7) = 9401 ~ 16849 Average DMG = 13125 Shockwave lv 20 = 7387 ~ 13239 -->10313 Shockwave lv 22 = 7789 ~ 13961 --> 10875 Shockwave lv 23 = 7991 ~ 14322 --> 11157 Shockwave lv 26 = 8595 ~ 15405 -->12000 You can clearly see that Transform + Shockwave outdamages Both Double Upper + Screw Punch at max level. The reason why this isn’t fair is that you max energy charge on lv 83 and transform+ shockwave on lv 87. so I capped shockwave to give a better look at the damage. The best combination to have on lv 83 is 14 transform 26 shockwave. You get the most damge out of Shockwave + a very decent cooldown for transform. Still better than Energy Charge ( the ratio becomes 2.5 sec nothing, 1 sec transform. So not alot better, but still better then charge) You can see that Shockwave outdamage Screw punch and that’s a good thing. Shockwave has a better range + you don’t have to charge Shockwave, so faster training. It doesn’t outdamage Double Upper, but Double upper is a single attack move, while Shockwave hits 6 monsters and everyone says that more monsters > 1 monster. Besides, the avarage damage of double upper + screwpunch is about the same as shockwave. Again, my calculations are based on the videos I have seen, so correct me on the charge time of energy charge if you can, or something else. It will really help me, because if im wrong, I may have to alter my build a little bit:P And correct me if i made some spelling mistakes or something, because im not American xD Conclusion for the lazy ones: Transform is a better choice if you dont mind higher single attacks ( by about 4k) and want something flashy, something that’s (very) good in mobs and a better ‘suckytime’/power up ratio. Ofcourse, transform really shines at lv 87, when you’ve maxed both transform and shockwave. At that time, it’s even better than double upper, but if you maxed energy charge, you have 10 extra skill points. ( not that that really matters I guess 10 sp doesn’t really make a difference, except maybe stun mastery, but that one isn’t really reliable) Im not saying that this is the best build to follow, but it’s an option and you pirate will not suck if you follow this build. " In the end, its your Story, your Pirate, build it the way YOU want. Pirates aren't for little kids who want to hold their finger on "Shift" whilst pressing the occasional "Alt" and "Ctrl". No! Pirates are the single most strategic class in the game, far surpassing Chief Bandits/Shadowers in terms of "We kindda suck, it's kindda unrewarding--but we have lots and lots of skill combonations and dont just jump around spamming one single key on the keyboard to take down a room full of enemies. Typical Captain or Viper walks into a room filled with enemies--they have literally THOUSANDS of different combonations to take down the room effectively. Compared to the typical Night Lord--Which has about..what...5 different combonations to use and only two of which that are useful?" |
